We were requested to bring back 12 Years A Slave in the aftermath of all it’s awards wins and nomination to initiate a community discussion to explore the text, the overall impact, effect, and possible influence on the making of other period films.\u00a0The purpose is to bring about clear dialogue on the kinds of histories we would like to see explored and invite filmmakers especially to join us to be engaged with and influence the dialogue.<\/p>\n
